Sun Conure Chicks at 10 weeks old

Strikingly beautiful Sun Conures (Aratinga Solstitialis) are a species that is regularly bred at Kimani Aviaries. Our Conures are fed a diet of Roudybush Pellets, Hagen Tropimix and fresh fruit and vegetables daily.

Sun Conures are an arboreal species and therefore ideally suited to suspended cages. Even very young birds prefer to roost inside nestboxes at night so these should always be provided.

Sun Conures can breed from about eighteen months of age but it is not unusual for them to take longer to reach maturity. Conures can be very noisy and this should be taken into consideration before deciding to purchase Conures.

Our Sun Conures are selectively bred to produce birds that carry a lot of rich orange in their plumage and we raise both parent raised and hand raised young birds.
